At the end of each trick, the winner takes all the cards
from the trick and scores points based on those cards. The players take turns in naming their bid, starting with the dealer and going clockwise.
A player can raise the bid by 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 points at a time.
When everyone is seated, one card is dealt to each
player. The dealer deals out the whole deck cards to
each player - beginning with the player on his or her left hand side and continuing clockwise.

Traditional trick-taking rules are used
for the last 12 tricks. In Pinochle, the bidding phase is where players bid
on the number of points they believe they can earn in the
game. Bidding starts with the player to the left of the dealer and continues clockwise.
The minimum bid is 250 points, and the maximum bid is
1000 points. The highest bidder leads the first
trick and chooses the trump suit. The partnerships make a bid with the minimum point score they will make with the
trump suit they choose.
Bids must go up by one point or more, until they reach 60; then they must go up by 5 points of more.
After all tricks are played, players count the points in the tricks they won. Aces and Tens are the most
valuable cards to capture in tricks. Pinochle always has a

one card each. Whoever plays the highest card in the leading suit wins, unless
