But here’s the kicker – by doing so, you might have just set your partner up to trump the next trick and gain control of the hand.
In Cutthroat Pinochle, individual players compete
to score the most points. If your partner is the high bidder you should
try to give them the best cards you have
to help them make melds, control the tricks, and collect as many
trump cards as possible. When all the cards have been played,
each team counts the points in the tricks they have won. If the
bidding side took in meld and tricks at least as
many points as they bid, then both teams add the points they made to their cumulative score.
The objective of the game is to score points by winning tricks, melding
cards, and fulfilling your team’s bid. A combination consisting of a king and a queen of
each suit is sometimes known as a roundhouse.
